Everyday History

This picture is of Smt. Chhabi Sinha, one of my cousins.

It was the late 1940s. The nation was on the verge of independence. It had been a long cherished wish of hers to pose in a man’s clothes. So, out came her husband’s suit, boot and hat, and we had our very own Lady Officer.

She did it in style, and her attitude was an inspiration for us for years to come.
