Spread throughout the Bengali speaking areas of the Indian sub-continent; "Jatra", a popular folk-theatre form of Bengali theatre has influenced the society as a whole while catering to a heterogeneous audience, has been credited to its innate malleability and ways of adapting to changing social dynamics. Though it is one of the oldest art form but now it is struggling to survive.
